Weekend Thoughts

Pumunta ako sa birthday celebration ni Tita Bhing last Friday. Sa bahay sya ng kanyang fiance nakatira, sa Caloocan. Napakalayo pala ng biyahe mula sa SC hanggang Fairview. True to what other people say, 'farview' talaga.

Nag-inuman kami that Friday night kasama ang sister ko, si A, mga pinsan ko, namely: Ate Lyn, Kuya Dong, Bernard, Eric, Jojo; Tito Balong, and friends nila Tita Bhing sa community nila.

Mababait ang in-laws ni Tita Bhing. Super alaga nila kami, lagi kaming pinapakain. I'm happy for my Tita. Alam ko na masaya na rin naman sya dito pero siyempre, sana may blessing na ni God.. soon..

Umuwi kami ng 3pm kinabukasan para humabol na makapanood ng Pinoy Dream Academy. Nakahabol naman kami.

Maganda ang bawat performance ng Top 6 scholars, except sa opening number nila. Feeling ko, napakalamya. Sa group performance naman, mas maganda ang sa girls.

Then nagstart na ang competition. Each scholars will sing 2 songs, one contest piece, and one fast song. Miguel Mendoza started with his contest piece which I can't remember the tile. Tapos Rock DJ naman ang fast song nya. Di ko gusto performance nya kasi maraming flats, especially sa Rock DJ na di nya nagawang maging alive.

Next is Laarni Lozada (not her true surname). She sang Manalig Ka and Boogie Wonderland. Maganda ang pagkakanta nya ng Manalig ka. Truely, she is a birit queen. Di ko lang type ung Boogie Wonderland kasi last time na pinerform eto, sa Happy Feet ko napanood and sobrang natuwa talaga ako. Pero sa performance ni Laarni, naging operatic ang dating ng kanta, plus may mali pa syang notes na sobrang napansin din ng Academy Headmaster Ryan Cayabyab.

Third is Cris Pastor. I don't know the title of her song but I think she sang it well. She really is the Most Improved Scholar of the Academy. With her sexiness, she performed her fast song very well.

Fourth performer is Van Roxas (Pojas is his real surname). I like his performance too although di nga ganun kaganda ang boses nya. Pero compare sa disaster nyang performance with Ms. Kitchie Nadal, mas ok na ito.

Second to the last is my favorite, Liezel Garcia. I also don't know the title of her song. Ung fast song nya ay Respect. She is really great. Without bias, even my friends commented na sya ang pinakamagaling nung gabing iyon. Walang maling notes, pero di pa masyadong bigay sa pag-express. But she is really a unique talent.

Save the best for last, it's Bugoy Drilon (Bugayan is his real surname). He sang Ligaya ang Climb Every Mountain. He has a great vocal chords. Medyo pumiyok lang sya pagpasok sa contest piece nya kasi mukang nabatak sa pagkanta ng Ligaya. Pero bumawi sya sa kalagitnaan at sa ending kung saan, standing ovation pa ang 6 jurors.

Conclusion: According sa performance, without bias and without textvotes:

2. Bugoy Drilon
3. Laarni Lozada
4. Cris Pastor
5. Van Roxas
6. Miguel Mendoza

I change hair-do. Nagparelax and trim. Ang tagal ko sa salon, muntik ko ng hindi abutan ang Awards Night ng PDA.

I am not happy with the result. Not because Liezel did not win but because Bugoy did not. Nag-ubos ako ng almost 1,500php sa pagboto kay Liezel but still, it's not enough para manalo sya. Kulang pa ng almost 6,000 votes para makapasok sya sa Top 3.

Pero kahit hindi sya nakapasok sa Top 3, I wished na sana si Bugoy na lang ang manalo. Pero, dala siguro ng kamalasang dala ng kanyang bagong apelyido, 2nd runner-up lang siya.

Hay.. I am not happy.
