Proud to be BULAKENYA!

Bulacan province, which revived the spirit of cooperativism, focused on education, promoted women empowerment through the Provincial Commission for the Women of Bulacan and encouraged feedback from constituents through the Constituent Responsive Governance Project.

Bulacan is one of the 10 local government units to receive a special citation from the United Nations which recognizes efforts to fulfill a global promise to eradicate poverty by 2015.

The challenged was specified into eight (8) Millenium Development Goals:
  • Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger.
  • Achieve universal primary education.
  • Promote gender equality and empowering women.
  • Reduce child mortality.
  • Improve maternal health.
  • Combat the spread of HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases.
  • Ensure environmental sustainability.
  • Develop global partnerships for development.
Having this award is such a great news for all Bulakenyos. Also, a sign to unite and help the government improve more and achieve the Millenium Development Goals.

I am very overwhelmed, and very proud that I am from Bulacan and glad that I am a Bulakenya. Long way to go!
